Repository Curation/Preservation Workshop at UKOLN

The UK RepNet attended the Workshop on Repository Curation and Preservation held on Mon Oct 15th at UKOLN/University of Bath. The event aimed to discuss initiatives carried out to far and next steps to take in the domain. A wide set of stakeholders involved in the preservation strand were gathered at UKOLN – among them representatives of EPrints, DSpace and Fedora repository platforms, initiatives such as the SPRUCE Project by OpenPlanets, research funders and the JISC. The RepNet Project was introduced by Balviar Notay, JISC RCSI Programme Manager, and Peter Burnhill delivered a wide-scope presentation on preservation services with emphasis on the curation/preservation services RepNet could potentially offer the UK repository community.
