A clarification on RCUK Open Access policy

Following the “Open Access: going for Gold?” discussion held last Thu Oct 27th at Imperial College London among Mark Thorley (RCUK), Stephen Curry (Imperial College), Richard Van Noorden (Nature News) and 125 additional event attendees, a very useful post on “RCUK Open Access Policy – When to go Green and When to go Gold” has been published by the former at the RCUK blog.

The post states that “The Research Councils are not anti-Green and support a dual approach for delivering OA” and explains that for journals offering both a Gold and a Green route to [RCUK OA policy] compliance, “it is up to the author and their institution to decide on the most appropriate route to use”.
