UKRepNet “A Pedestrian View” report available

As of Sep 21st, the UKRepNet Discussion Paper “A Pedestrian View of the Roads to Open Access: Understanding Workflows to Enrich Infrastructure” is available at the Edinburgh Research Archive (ERA) Open Access repository.

This Watching Brief reflects the view of the UKRepNet Project on the additional requirements with regard to research information management posed by the support of Open Access as expressed by the Finch Report and its subsequent endorsement by RCUK and the Government. In order to be able to track the expected increase in Open Access outputs and payments resulting from the adopted policy, the report identifies requirements for metadata enhancement and proposes a workflow for monitoring Open Access payments that will provide HEIs currently missing tools for reporting, both internally and externally, on their Open Access payments. Finally, the brief presents the UKRepNet proposal for a new Dashboard service that will enable to monitor the progress of published articles towards being available Open Access if required by funder mandates.
